Benefits of Contributing

The main benefit of contributing is knowing that you are helping children who often cannot find help elsewhere.  You will join a spiritual community devoted to children's health and wellbeing. You will receive announcements about special events and our quarterly publication, Building Blocks.

How Contributions Are Used

Children's Hospital of Illinois has celebrated over 20 years providing high-quality healthcare services to pediatric patients of central Illinois. Children's Hospital was founded on the belief that no child - regardless of ability to pay - will be denied medical care. This principle is always forefront in our vision and guides our directives: (1) to deliver outstanding pediatric care; (2) to recruit top pediatric specialists; (3) to offer state-of-the-art technology; (4) to provide programmatic focus on treating medical needs of children; (5) to offer financial support programs for children's families in need; (6) to foster an affiliation with the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria; and (7) to invest in research programs.

Children's Hospital has 127 inpatient beds, which includes 53 general care, 35 neonatal intensive care, 20 newborn, 12 intensive care plus general pediatric beds. Over 75 physician specialists in 24 different disciplines provide care. Annual admissions are approximately 5,000 with an additional 16,000 pediatric emergency department visits and 25,000 outpatient visits.

Our growth and strength lies in our ability to attract and retain pediatric specialists and provide the latest and most technically advanced life-saving equipment.

The total funds raised for Children's Hospital are put to use in many ways.  From equipment to programs, these expenditures sustain and support the needs of the children. Examples of how money is used include:
